Popular streamer quits gambling following $5m crypto casino win
One of the world’s most popular streamers has announced he is quitting online gambling after recording a stunning $5 million win at a leading crypto casino.
Felix Lengyel is a Canadian online streamer who is better known by the name xQc, having amassed more than 10 million followers on Twitch before opting to make the move to Kick.
The former professional Overwatch player switched to Kick after Twitch announced it was clamping down on streamers displaying themselves gambling at sites such as crypto casinos.
After xQc posted a screenshot to his chat that appeared to display a $5 million win at StLengyelake.com, a leading crypto casino site, he said he would be quitting online gambling.
Lengyel previously said that he had lost more than $1 million on bets at a trip to Las Vegas – the gambling capital of the world – but his luck was clearly in during his crypto casino session.
“Nah I already withdrew my shit, I ain’t gambling no more,” xQc said after his $5 million win.
However, xQc must have had a wager on the hotly awaited bout between controversial fight star Dillon Danis and YouTube sensation Logan Paul, which took place in Manchester on Saturday.
Danis, whose background is in MMA was disqualified by the referee of the boxing match in the final round after he attempted both a double-leg takedown and a guillotine choke on Paul.
The YouTuber had been ahead on the scorecards ahead of Danis – who sealed a deal with a crypto casino before the bout – being disqualified but was denied an outright win as a result of the disqualification, leaving xQc out of pocket after his bet failed to land.
The news that xQc is quitting online gambling via his streams comes shortly after a Danish Twitch streamer was fined more than $1,500 after he was found to have been advertising gambling sites that did not have the relevant licence.
