Esports team secures partnership with crypto casino partner
One of the top esports teams in the world has announced it will be teaming up with a crypto casino partner.
Evil Geniuses, an esports organisation that competes in a range of top titles such as Valorant, CS:GO and League of Legends, has sealed a deal with Thunderpick.
The crypto esports betting and casino appears to be a natural fit to partner with Evil Geniuses given it has long been at the forefront when it comes to online betting on esports.
Under the terms of the deal, Thunderpick becomes the marquee partner for all of the Evil Geniuses Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams: EG Black, EG Gold, and EG Blue. None of the Evil Geniuses teams playing other esports will be included in the deal with Thunderpick.
Thunderpick will be promoted as the Official Crypto Casino and Gambling Partner for the team, following in the footsteps of various other deals between esports teams and crypto casino sites.
Evil Geniuses head of global partnerships Leonard Edwards explained that the move to team up with Thunderpick comes as part of its aim to provide an improved fan experience overall.
“We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on our organisation,” he said in a statement released to mark the partnership between Thunderpick and Evil Geniuses.
As Thunderpick is not licensed in the United States or anywhere else in North America, eyebrows might well be raised at the decision from Evil Geniuses to team up with them.
However, with the popularity of crypto casinos rising at a rapid rate around the world, it might be a chance for Evil Geniuses to get into a developing industry on the ground floor.
Commenting on the partnership, Thunderpick’s chief executive Nicole Lapointe Jameson said: “Thunderpick’s commitment to ensuring a reliable and inventive betting environment will offer a new arm of engagement during events.”
She added that Thunderpick becoming a marquee partner for Evil Geniuses means that the two organisations can collaborate on various new innovative experiences for fans of esports.
Kelly Sanders, the head of strategy for Thunderpick, said: “Thunderpick is committed to supporting and growing players’ opportunities to succeed not only as players, but as creators and individuals, and this partnership marks a key milestone in our efforts to foster a larger and more diverse community within esports and gaming more broadly.
“We look forward to leveraging our platform and offering exciting new experiences for CS:GO fans while also introducing our brand to a wider audience.”
