Crypto casino to feature on shirts of Premier League team
A Premier League team has confirmed that a crypto casino site will be its new shirt sponsor.
Southampton Football Club, newly promoted to the Premier League for the upcoming campaign, have signed up Rollbit to be the team’s new primary sponsor.
Rollbit’s branding will also feature on LED advertising and hospitality at the team’s stadium, St Mary’s, with the crypto casino’s head of partnerships Sam Norman hailing the new deal.
He said in a statement: “Rollbit is delighted to announce its latest partnership with Southampton FC following on from their incredible win in the playoff final. Southampton beat Leeds United at Wembley thanks to a goal from star striker Adam Armstrong to seal their return to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season, which gets underway in August. Southampton will be taking on giants of the game such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United with Rollbit on their shirts as a result of the team’s success.
Rollbit has previously teamed up with Serie A side Napoli and the crypto casino site also has an association with a leading esports gaming team, FaZe Clan, which has a record 8.5 million YouTube subscribers. The deal for Rollbit to become the sponsor FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike team was described as being one of the biggest sponsorships in the history of esports, with reports indicating the crypto casino had paid millions of dollars to secure the agreement.
Greg Baker, Southampton FC’s chief revenue officer welcomed the crypto casino as the team’s new official front of shirt partner and described Rollbit as “a leader in the online gaming space”.
He added in a statement: “This partnership marks a dynamic fusion of technology and sport, at an exciting time for the club as we embark on our journey back in the Premier League. Together, we look forward to creating unforgettable moments for our fans.”
Southampton’s fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur will also have a crypto company on their shirts for the new season, with the platform Kraken to feature on Spurs’ sleeves.
