Crypto casino seals Davis Cup partnership
One of the world’s top tennis tournaments has added a global crypto casino as its new partner.
Stake, which provides an array of sports betting markets as well as a wide range of top crypto casino games, is now on board as the official betting partner of the Davis Cup. The tournament, which was founded all the way back in 1900, is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
As part of the new deal, Stake has also come on board as a partner of the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge, joining that event’s other global partners such as Microsoft and Magellan. Sportradar, which is the data partner for the ITF, helped to facilitate the new partnership.
David Haggerty, the president, said: “We are excited to announce these partnerships as we look to build on the success of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge in 2023. We thank our partners for their continued support, and we look forward to working with Stake, whose track record across a range of major international events speaks for itself.”
The ITF head added that Stake has a “stated commitment to responsible business practices and significant reach among global sports fans”. He also pointed out that the crypto casino site has carried out “rigorous due diligence in line with ITF rules for betting sponsorship”.
This is the second blockbuster sporting deal that has been announced for Stake in recent weeks. The crypto casino previously announced that it has extended a link with the Sauber/Alfa Romeo team for the 2024 and 2025 Formula One campaign. Stake also sponsors a range of football teams, though a mooted deal to link up with Chelsea was downed by fan protests.
Akhil Sarin, the chief marketing officer for Stake, said that the crypto casino is “delighted and extremely proud” to become the new Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup official betting partner.
In a statement released to mark the partnership’s formation, he added: “Tennis is a universally popular sport, and these competitions are two of the most passionately followed across the globe. We look forward to some exciting initiatives spread across the tennis calendar and working with the ITF to promote the sport to our worldwide audience.”
Italy won the most recent Davis Cup final, defeating Australia 2-0 in the final, while the holders of the Billie Jean King Cup are Canada after they were able to come out on top against Italy.
