Crypto casino industry backed for 2023 growth
A leading industry figure has suggested that crypto gambling is set to be one of the sector’s biggest trends for the year 2023.
Crypto gambling has been expanding at a rapid rate in recent years with many sites now offering people the chance to make their deposits using cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin.
According to the chief executive of Delasport, which is a leading sportsbook and online casino turnkey software solutions provider, gambling with crypto is set for further growth this year.
Writing in a column for the respected Gaming Intelligence site, Oren Cohen Shwartz suggested many non-crypto gambling platforms are set to “incorporate cryptocurrencies into their platforms in 2023” as this is increasingly being demanded by their users as a new banking method.
“The cryptocurrency gambling industry will grow as its regulation becomes more defined. Casinos that accept Bitcoin and other digital tokens as payment methods will grow in 2023 as they already occupy a sizable market niche within the iGaming sector,” he wrote in the column.
“For the players, being able to bet anonymously, paying little to no fees, and having quick transactions are attractive prospects. Cryptocurrency users highly value the anonymity they provide and are unlikely to return to traditional cash payments.”
Even though the price of Bitcoin has been particularly volatile in recent times, many people prefer to use crypto for gambling as a result of it being deemed highly secure. By making a deposit with a type of crypto, users can avoid sharing their financial information with casinos.
Many within the industry have pinpointed Latin America as a growth area for the online gambling industry, including for crypto casinos, with the Delasport CEO also agreeing. Brazil and some of the other major South American giants were described as being “on the brink” of regulating the gambling industry, which could open the door for more crypto casino sites.
Some operators also appear to be paving the way for this to happen, with the former Brazil international footballer David Luiz – who starred in the Premier League for London giants Chelsea and Arsenal earlier in his career – joining a crypto casino site as an ambassador.
The defender, who now plays for Flamengo in his homeland, will be connecting with players and fans through the popular interactive gaming streaming platform Twitch thanks to the deal with the BC.Game site, which already has a similar deal with the Argentine Football Association.
