Crypto casino announced new sports sponsorship and brand ambassadors

A leading crypto casino and betting site has announced a new sports sponsorship in South America, as well as adding a clutch of new brand ambassadors in Africa to its roster.

Sportsbet.io, which already has sponsorship deals in place with a raft of football clubs including Championship sides Hull City and Watford in England, is teaming up with Independiente.

The Argentine giants will have the crypto casino’s logo on the front of their shirts for the 2025 season, bringing the Sportsbet.io brand to a new audience.

Sportsbet.io’s logo will also be seen in continental competition in the coming months as Independiente will compete in the Copa Sudamericana this season as well.

The timing of the crypto casino’s deal with Independiente comes as the Chamber of Deputies in Argentina approved a bill proposing a raft of new tighter restrictions on gambling and betting advertising, including sports sponsorships.

Many of the top teams in Argentina now have a gambling sponsor, with Independiente following in the footsteps of major clubs like Boca Juniors, Racing Club and River Plate in this regard.

In a statement, Independiente said: “Sportsbet is a site with slots, roulette, blackjack, live casino and bingo, which includes sports betting and manages with this agreement to position itself as a key player in the sports world, reaffirming its vision of promoting responsible entertainment and its support for sports institutions of great relevance such as the Club Atlético Independiente, one of the most emblematic in the American continent.”

Along with its push into South America, Sportsbet.io continues to focus on growth in Africa. As such, the crypto casino has added Jimmie Akinsola as a brand ambassador, with the Nigerian broadcaster, presenter and actor known for his appearances on Beat FM and SuperSport.

Tanzanian afro beats duo Navy Kenzo – made up of Aika and Nahreel – are also joining the crypto casino site as brand ambassadors, joining the likes of rapper King Kaka in teaming up with Sportsbet.io.

Paul Ephraim, an actor and musician who is better known as JayPaul and has been in the Big Brother Naija house, is also on board and he hyped up the deal with the crypto casino site.

“This is more than an ambassadorship; it’s an opportunity to bring people into a world where fun, innovation, and accessibility intersect. Sportsbet.io is revolutionising the betting space, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it,” JayPaul said in a statement.
