Aston Villa launches crypto casino partnership

Another Premier League club has announced a deal with a top crypto casino site. Aston Villa has become the latest Premier League club to join forces with a crypto casino and sportsbook, confirming Duelbits as the new Official European Betting Partner.

Nicola Ibbetson, the chief commercial officer at Aston Villa said the club was pleased to have partnered with the crypto casino brand. She said: “It was clear from our first conversations that their ambition to challenge and to grow matches our own. We look forward to working together this season.”

As a result of the deal with Duelbits, the crypto casino site’s branding will be shown on the pitch-side LED boards during matches at Villa Park. Duelbits only launched its sportsbook site in 2021, adding to the crypto casino games that were already available for its customers to try out. Marco Pinnisi, the chief marketing officer at Duelbits, explained that the sponsorship deal with Villa is part of the company’s growth strategy.

“The deeply immersive and intuitive product is made for both new as well as experienced sportsbook players. Duelbits aims to continually develop a strong sportsbook that can be compared to leading bookmakers in the market,” he said in a statement.

“We felt it was the right time to give the brand the visibility it deserved and we couldn’t see a better way than sponsoring one of the most well-known Premier League clubs. This partnership underlines Duelbits’ desire to work with the most prestigious sports brands. Whilst we are a young brand, we wanted to be associated with a historical club, creating a great mixture between heritage and new generation sportsbook. We are extremely excited and honoured to support such a legendary club, and we are sure this great mixture will be particularly engaging for our users and Aston Villa fans.”

This is not the first time Villa has made a move into crypto and associated technology, having launched the Socios-powered “Aston Villa Token” for fans.

Duelbits was only founded in 2020 but was able to capitalise on the COVID-19 crisis that led to many bricks and mortar casinos having to close their doors, forcing players to go online. Many other crypto casinos have used sports sponsorships in a bid to increase brand recognition, including in the Premier League.

For the 2022-23 season, the Stake sportsbook and crypto casino is the primary shirt sponsor of Everton, the brand having previously had a deal with Watford in the Premier League as well.
