Crypto casino partners with esports team in multi-million deal

A top esports team has secured a new multi-million partnership with a leading crypto casino.

The agreement between the FaZe Clan Counter-Strike 2 team and the Rollbit crypto casino is worth an unspecified amount said by the two parties to be at least seven figures.

“Rollbit is excited to partner with FaZe Clan, the current number one Counter-Strike team in the world,” said Rollbit’s head of partnerships Sam Norman. “We have long admired FaZe Clan and look forward to joining its global audience of over 500 million social followers.”

The Los Angeles-based esports team is one of the biggest in the world, with FaZe Clan competing across titles such as Call of Duty,PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite Battle Royale, Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

FaZe Clan was the first international team to celebrate victory at a Global Offensive Major event, having come out on top of the competition at PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The team is next due to be in action at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 and will be among the favourites to win.

Founded back in 2010, FaZe Clan was acquired by GameSquare Holdings Inc. last year – although that blockbuster deal is yet to be fully completed by the parties – with the esports team having secured a string of sponsorships and partnerships in recent times. Nike, McDonalds and even DC Comics are among the companies teaming up with FaZe Clan.

FaZe president Erik Anderson described the new deal with the Rollbit crypto casino as one of the largest sponsorship deals in the history of Counter-Strike and esports more widely.

He said: “Today’s historic announcement not only demonstrates our shared commitment to competition and excellence, but also ensures a strong and enduring program for our fans. We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with Rollbit.”

However, as Rollbit is not yet licensed to operate in the United States, the terms of the agreement sees the crypto casino and the esports team only link up outside of America.

In a statement, Rollbit’s Norman added: “We’re looking forward to supporting and cheering for the Counter-Strike team as they aim to uphold their top global ranking throughout this year’s season. This collaboration marks another milestone for Rollbit as we continue to expand our sponsorship portfolio with other leading sports organisations.”

Rollbit has also been working hard to increase its public presence by signing fresh deals, having recently snapped up the reigning Serie A champions Napoli to add to its growing roster.
